It's New Year's Eve, 1999. The planet is rocked by a staggering geological event--followed by reports of the appearance of a woman with extraordinary powers. Sensing the story of a lifetime, television correspondent John Feldman embarks on a dangerous quest to find out who or what she is. As the woman begins to connect to the millions who flock to her, the world erupts in dangerous ideological conflict, and Feldman must learn the truth--before it's too late.

The two well-dressed TV excecutives sat alone in a World News Network editing suite a series of bizarre, silent scenes played out on the huge video wall before them.
Towering on the screen was the face of a grinning,feverish-eyed, middle-aged man with a scruffy beard. He was dressed in a tattered robe. His long stringy hair was matted with blood that trickled from a laurel
wreath of rusted barbed wire on his head.

The US embassy in Tel Aviv was an impressive government building in the Roman style, with six large columns at the top of expansive sandstone steps. A spotlessly uniformed valet reluctantly accepted Feldman’s Rover from him, put off by the dirt and sand that Feldman never noticed.
There were accolades awaiting inside where the two newsmen arrived unintertionally but fashionably late. Having slept through WNN’s evening newcast, neither was aware that their Negev Institute report had made lead story.Their first major scoop.
Ascending the grand staircase to the main hall, Feldman and Hunter worked their way through warn greetings from familiar associates and new faces alike, who congratulated them on their freshly achieved stature. A genuinely renowed affair, the US embassy Christmas celebration was originally held in appreciation of Christian consulate members and staff detained in the Jewish state over the holidays. But the Christmas party had grown to include Israel politicians and government officials, as well as connected media, prominent business people, and many of the area’s well-to-do. A gathering of the elite. Even for the resourceful and persistent Hunter, obtaining two invitations had been no easy fat.
Feldman was not here to dispel any homesickness. Not was here for the outstanding cuisine and excellent news contacts. For both Feldam and Hunter, the sole appeal of this event was the prospect of meeting the available young woman reputed to make their appearance here. And to the newsmen’s complete gratification, the office scuttlebutt, for once proved accurate. Among the hundreds of elect guests in attendance tonight were some of the most chic and beautiful women the two reporters had encountered since arriving in this foreign land.
Feldman smiled and shook his head with a slight twinge on envy as he watched

"There you are" an aide called out with relief, spying Feldman at a coffee cart. "We've been looking all cover for you. Sullivan's called a special strategy session in conference room four.
Leaving his coffee mug behind, a tired-looking Feldman hustled off down the corridor, only to be intercepted by another staff member who stuck her head out of a door and called hesitantly to him.
